Shipping Policy

Due to state laws and regulations we can only ship wine to the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, LA, MI, MN, MO, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, SC, TX, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY. List of legal states are subject to change. We ship via FedEx or UPS Ground within 3 business days of your order. Contact us for pricing if you prefer another shipping method or speed.

Age Restrictions

You must be at least 21 years old to order and receive wine by federal law. By placing an order you represent to R. Merlo Estate Vineyards that you are at least 21 years old.

Delivery Requirements

At the time of delivery, a person 21 years or older must be present to sign for the package. Deliveries are normally made during regular business hours. If no adult is available during normal business hours at your shipping address to sign for the package we encourage you to have the package shipped to your business address to insure fast, interruption-free delivery.

If you can not have your purchase delivered to your work, and you cannot be home during normal delivery hours, we encourage you to purchase one of our Shipping Upgrades to give you more control over when your wines will be delivered.

Other Restrictions

Due to the signature requirement, we cannot ship wine to PO Boxes or APO or FPO addresses. The US Postal Service will not handle alcohol shipments.

Other Return Policy

R. Merlo Estate Vineyards is 100% committed to the complete satisfaction of our wine customers. If you should ever have broken bottles or delivery problems, please email us through our Contact Us page. We will be able to handle any problems with FedEx, UPS, or any other courier within a 60 day period following the expected delivery date. We are not responsible for any package problems after this 60 day period. We will always work to get your problem solved as quickly as possible.

If a delivery cannot be made because there is not an adult present to sign for the package at the time of the delivery attempt, we will not refund the costs of shipping, and there will be a $10.00 or 25% restocking charge for the wine, whichever is greater. Please purchase a Shipping Upgrade if your need to have the delivery scheduled at a specific time or on a specific date.

Shipping Charges

We generally ship via FedEx and interface with their system to acquire shipping estimates for your purchase. We have specific logic in our programs to minimize shipping costs. We also enjoy some of the industries best discounted FedEx rates, which we pass on to you.

Since we offer many shipping choices to ensure the wine is transported to you in the shortest period of time, it is your responsibility to choose a method which will allow the wine safe transport to your location. Please consider the different shipping times depending upon the season and your geographical location. White wines are much more susceptible to heat damage than red wines. We certify that all our wines have been kept in temperature controlled environments and are in excellent condition when they leave our facility.
